THE STORY SO FAR

CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM THE FINAL DREAM AND RE:BorN

High school student Issei Hyoudou is your run-of-the-mill pervert who did nothing productive with his life, peeping on women and dreaming of having his own harem one day. Things seemed to be looking up for Issei when a beautiful girl asked him out on a date, although she turned out to be a fallen angel who brutally killed him! However, he got a second chance at life when beautiful senior student Rias Gremory, who was a top-class devil, revived him as her servant, recruiting Issei into the ranks of the school's Occult Research club.

Slowly adjusting to his new life, Issei trained and fought alongside his fellow Devil comrades to fulfill his dream of becoming the Harem King in the violent world of angels and devils, taking the battle to anyone who dared threaten his world and coming out on top along the way, even going on to profess his love to the girls. However, their bonds were tested when Malachion, the leader of the Rogue Angels, came back to life and launched his deadliest war on Kuoh Town with the help of the Chrellion warlord Doxai and the Orcs. Fearing the return of Malachion’s master Trihexa, the Occult Research Club betrayed Issei in the hopes of saving their people and the town, but their noble efforts instead led to their undoing when Malachion dealt a deadly first strike that claimed their lives and brought the Gremory Clan to extinction, leading a devastated Issei down a dark path of vengeance as the Fallen Angel Rayne, the successor to the very person who broke his heart.

In his sadness, Issei found himself forming a bond with his first girlfriend Yuuma Amano, who was always there to accompany him since the massacre on Kuoh Academy that cost him everything he ever loved. In their moment of reconciliation, they fell in love, but as their love blossomed, the horrifying nightmares that plagued Kuoh Town only grew stronger with the Three Factions and their surviving allies falling victim to the might of the very people they swore to protect, and in the minutes that followed Trihexa’s return to power, Malachion established his conquest of the town as the Supreme Overlord, with his formidable empire showing no hesitation in subjugating every surviving human civilian, Sacred Gear user, and supernatural creature to the Antichrist Seed’s malicious will.

Fortunately, though, in humanity’s darkest hour, heroes from all over the world rose up to challenge the Rogue Angels and their evil forces, fighting valiantly to take back Kuoh Town, but in the end, it was Issei who struck down Malachion and Trihexa and brought an end to the war, saving the entire world from destruction.

No one knew what truly happened since Issei and Yuuma left the Human World, but one thing is clear: the Occult Research Club’s nemeses have become ours, and you are the only ones who can defend the world of Draconis Deus against them, Guardians.
